Mark Daniel Regnerus is a professor of sociology at the University of Texas, where he also conducts research. His top topics are sexual behavior, the relationship between religion and sexuality, new phenomena in ʺdatingʺ, and family. He has published more than 30 articles and studies. He has also written two books on youth, relationships, and sexuality: Forbidden Fruit (2007) and Premarital Sex in America (2011). His article "Sex is Cheap" was the ninth most downloaded article on Slate in 2011. However, he received the most publicity and criticism for his 2012 study on child-rearing by gay couples, which even the leadership of his home university distanced itself from. In 2014, he testified in a Michigan court as an expert in the field of child-rearing by gay couples. Learn more about Mark here and live on BHD.
